Last week, when my colleague's told me they went to Chakri Palace for lunch, I knew I had to make a trip there one day.
The day finally came - yesterday. Took the kids to KLCC as I wanted to bring them to Petrosains. Upon reaching there, I saw the crowd queuing up, well that changed my mind pretty quickly. Told the kids I will bring them another day - on a weekday maybe. Off we went in seach of food after that since we had nothing to do. Looked at the directory to see what KLCC had to offer in terms of food. Saw Chakri Palace on the list and knew I had to go there.
With my son grumbling in the background about not eating his type of food, heheeheh, we finally found Chakri Palace. Once there and seated he stopped his grumbling - finally and told me he wanted white rice. That means I had to oder dishes. OK, since there were only me and my 2 kids, I could'nt really order anything spciy, like green curry, etc. Basically, I let him order.

Lunch at Oriental Pavilion, Jaya 33
Last Friday was the last day for one of my colleague. She has been with the company for at least 12 years.
The boss had a farewell lunch for her at Oriental Pavilion, and of course I was also included. hehehe. We tok the set menu which was RM899++. There were 15 of us in a table so of course the extra food was charged separately.
This is what was in the menu. Started off with
Prawn Salad & Pan-Fried Crab Meat Cake.
Braised Coral Shark's Fin Soup in Claypot Thai Style. Instead of the usual vinegar which you usually put in your shark fin's soup, they had a plate of something green, which was blended chillies and errr fish sauce maybe and.... Anyway, you take a little and I mean a little cause once you mix it in your soup and take a slurp, the after taste will leave a burning sensation in your throat. I totally enjoyed this.
Crispy baby Duck in Money Bag. Oppps I totally forgot to take a snapshot of this.
Ying Yang Pomfret. See how they carved the fish. Cool right
Braised Abalone with Beancurd, Dried Oyster & Black Fungus in Beancurd Skin
BBQ Whole Suckling Pig with Glutinous Rice
Glutinus Rice Dumpling with Black Sesame Paste.
Double-Boiled Snow Pear with White Fungus
By the time we finished, it was about 3pm. Got back to the office by about 3:30pm, as we had a little problem with the parking ticket and had to go all the waydon to the ticket office to sort it out.
