Fishes

In my previous post, I told you I had lunch at Telok Gong. Well, before that we went up to Klang - the place is after the the terminal where Star Cruise used to dock.

Look at the fishes. Hubby choose the fishes he wanted to buy including prawns. Then he gave it to the lady to weigh and paid the lady. You can even get them to gut and cut the fishes for you. After that you can get big plastic bags, fill it up with ice and then pack it.

Lunch at Telok Gong

Was at Telok Gong for lunch after buying fresh fish from Klang. Have not been to this place for a long time and the kids have also forgotten that they came before. On the way in to Telok Gong hubby commented that the place have changed a lot - more factories, road also better.

We went to 'Coconut Flower Seafood'. Kids and I love seafood, and you will notice that most of the time we go on roa

Stir fried vege

Salted Egg Crab - looks a bit dry but it was good. Some places fry it with too much grave and tend to make it to 'jelak'. This was just nice. Kids and I finished the whole plate.

Kam Heong Lala - bit spicy, son did not eat much.

Ikan Bulus

Overall, the bill came out to RM83 inclusive of rice and drinks.

Euro Deli

Asked my son what he wanted to eat for his birthday and he said 'Lamb Chop'. So we went to Euro Deli at Damansara Kim. Actually, three of his birthdays were celebrated there. heheh. This place can get pretty crowded especially on weekends, but we went there on a Friday night, so it was still quite OK. The birthday boy initially told me he wanted 'Lamb Chop', but changed his mind after seeing the Menu. This was what he ordered. More like 'breakfast set' right.

'English Plate' - Sausage, bacon, egg and fries.

My girl had Spaghetti Carbonara

Parents took Lamb Chop

Hubby's dish was AglioOlio

Finally, I had Emmenthaler Sausage

and Potato Skin - Cheese and Bacon

Ikan Bakar

A colleague of mine brought us for lunch to this delicious Ikan Bakar yesterday. Actually he brought us here once before, but that time another colleague of mine was on leave. We told her how good it was and she insisted on having it yesterday. So, here we are again. It is just a little shack by the roadside err somewhere near Segambut Dalam or something like that. My colleague and I were planning on remembering the roads and how to get to this place but after I passed the 'Hockey Stadium' then I am lost. It was turn left, straight, right and I forgot. Anyway, we finally reached the place, and we quickly got a place to sit. It can get pretty crowded, so go early. Before we went, one of my colleague already said she wanted to order two fishes.

This is how the place looks like. Anyone been here? The food is on your left and places to sit are on your right.

They have lots of varieties. Beef Rendang, Curry Fish, and lots of green vegetables and also ulams. The last time I came, I took their rendang and 1 ikan pari. Phone camera was out that time so did not manage to take any pics. This time I took rice with a bit of nanka (jackfruit) cooked in curry with santan (masak lemak) - delicious

I took 2 fishes also. A stingray (Pari) and Hardtail Scad Fish (Cencaru)

Half eaten cencary, as I took off the skin before I remember to take a picture. hehehe

The fish cost RM4 per piece for a small fish and the big one is RM5 per fish. My rice is RM0.60. The two fishes cost me RM8.00.

The above is their sauce. Once is black, the other is chilly with onions, lime. Goes so well with the Ikan Bakar.

They even have squids cooked in sambal, which came out later. One of my colleague took it and shared it with us. She took 2 fishes first and when she finished it, she went to take another one, because she says she won't know how to come again, unless, our colleague bring her. So must eat until satisfied.

Bread

Sunday, after fetching the kids from Sunday School, we went to see an 'Old friend'. She is very dear to me and recently her grandaughter told me that she has not been well. So I made it a point to visit her as weekdays was out of the question. Anway, she was chirpy as usual and it was good to see her.

On the way home, asked hubby to drop me at Carrefour as I wanted to pick up some stuffs. Wanted to try baking a BREAD. Got all my stuffs and quickly went home. I have a cake mixer at home. I have used it many times to mix doughs for cakes, biscuits, etc but I have not tried to use it to knead with the 'curly kneader' (don't know what it's called). Mixed all the ingredients in the mixer, and I on the mixer. It was going fine, until I noticed the dough all stuck to the 'curly kneader and going upwards until it was going to spill out from the mixer bowl. I quickly, off the switch, pushed the dough down and started again. Again the same thing happened over and over again. Anyone knows why? Finally, I just removed the mixer and started kneading the dough with my hands. Gosh, its really hard work. My hands really felt like coming out. After kneading, I had to cover the dough and leave it to double in size. This is how it looked like after kneading. Don't look too good as I dint not knead long enough. No energy. heheh

After that I had to knead again. and then leave it for a while and then put it on a tray and leave it again and the finally put it in the oven.

Ohhhh the smell of bread baking in the over was wonderful. The outcome.

Melaleuca

My daughter has very bad eczema on her arms. I have taken her to numerous Skin Specialist, but it still does not heal much. After seeing the Skin Specialist and using their cream, it will heal a bit but after that it comes back. I try not to use too much of their cream because I feel if the skin improves very fast and well, they usually have steriods and I don't want my daughter to use too much of it. Every time we go out, people will always ask 'what happen to her arms'. We happened to be in Petaling Street one day, and one of the vendors also commented on her arm. She even recommended me to buy one cream from one of the Chinese shops around (can't remember what was the name/brand of the cream or which shop) and says that it is very good. Wasn't really paying attention as I know I won't buy stuffs that I'm not sure about.

Anyway, one day at hubby's stall one customer saw my daughter's hand and recommended a cream. He says that he will buy the cream to let her try. The next day he came with the cream and we let her try it. I must say that it helped and she does scratch so much. But of course, its not a miracle cream that will heal you immediately. Anyway, she has been using it and even use their body wash. I have recently joined as a member so that I can buy it whenever I want and not trouble people too much. They have lots of other products too, from vitamins to floor cleaner to skin products and yes its a MLM company. As you can see from my heading, what the company name is. This is from my own experience and I am not doing any promo for the above company.

On the way back home last Saturday, we passed by 'Alisan' - it is or should I say it was a Restaurant by that name - years ago. Anyway it was errr, SS3 or SS4, I am not very sure. But nearby is the Taman Bahagia LRT station. Anyway, 'Alisan' is no more there, it is now called 'Ipoh Road Yong Tow Foo'. Mentioned it to hubby and he says we must try it one day. Told him why not have it for lunch, after picking the kids up from school.

So, after picking the kids up, we ended up here.

Did not order much at first, as we were not sure how it tasted. Well, it was pretty good and we ended up ordering again and again. RM1.10 per piece.

Fried Sui Kow
And a plate of 'Assam Fish'. Tasty. Don't mind coming back here for lunch again. But parking is a bit difficult. We parked opposite near 'Lorenzo' - a place selling furnitures

Butter Durian Cake

Baked a durian cake over the weekend. I actually bought the ingredients a week ago. Last week I baked an Orange Cake, but used a wrong tin size, well I actually did not have the proper cake size tin, so instead used a larger one. The cake turned out soft and moist but it was thin. So did not upload the photo. Anywayyy.....

My 'Butter Durian Cake'. Looks good right, taste good also.

Nasi Lemak Kukus

Yesterday we had our dinner, at this stall in front of the flats, in Sunway.  It was yummy. It was Nasi Kukus, Kelantan Style. Hubby bought this for us before, but this time, we sat at the stall and dug in - fresh. When we arrive there, they only had a piece of chicken left and few quails. Well, everybody wanted the chicken, so we had to wait a while as they were already frying it.

Quail - It was good, it could have been delicious, but it was cold already.  But still, I finished it. yumyum.

Rice with pickled cucumber, drumstick, curry, and chilly - delicious.

Spring cleaning

Spring cleaning on a Saturday, actually for me its more of a filing day. I have so many bills, statements from phone bills to credit card bills all not filed for months.  Anyway, I managed to file most of it. Kids were throwing stuffs they did not want, clothes that were too small, etc. For lunch, I just fried some sausages, ham and french toast. hubby vacuming. Time for a break. Having a very bad cough.

Dinner at SS2

Had dinner in SS2, one night. Asked hubby to try out this place, as whenever we passed the shop it was always full of people. Hoi Peng Seafood Restaurant.

Asked my kids what they wanted to eat. As usual, my girl wanted Oat prawns, but my son wanted steam prawns. Mummy wanted steam prawns also, so we had that. Told my girl we will order Oat prawns the next time. Prawns was very fresh, the gravy , lovely. It comes with a chilly sauce, ohhhh delicious. Must try. This was 400g - RM32.00

Next on the list was fish. Hubby asked for sea fish as he knows I don't eat pond fish, because of the smell, but they did not have any. So hubby asked me if Tilapia was OK. I told him should be OK, but it must be cooked with a gravy as to mask the smell. Actually, if the fish smells, even though the gravy is strong I still won't eat the fish. We ordered 'Cheong Ching'. I must say it was very good - both fish and gravy. No smell at all. RM31.50. Bit pricey.

Lastly, vege - 'Tai Wong Miu'. RM15.00

Rambling

After dinner, asked hubby to go to Damansara Uptown as I wanted to buy some bread for breakfast. I have seen this bakery 'Free Mori' numerous times but have not had the chance to try it yet. Hubby dropped me, (parking in Uptown is horrible) and I went in to get my selection. When I went in to the shop, I was like 'WOW', there have so many varieties and everything looks so delicious. I walked around deciding what to get and finally made my choice. Paid and then went outside to look for hubby. As I was going out the main entrance, saw the car parked right outside the shop - thought to myself, wah hubby so clever found a place right outside. While walking towards the car, was still thinking of the cakes and breads inside the shop. Went to the car, opened the car door - immediately a voice said 'Ooops, wrong car'. I looked up, mortified and saw a man, not my hubby, looking at me - smiling, I immediately said 'Sorry', closed the car door and walked off. I was so embarrased, I could think straight. Anyway, I immediately called hubby to see where he was. Told me he was parked in front of ' Brothers'. Said OK, and walked to meet him. As I was walking, I thought to myself, it is right or left. Stood outside Baskins Robbins trying to figure out where 'Brothers' was. The car I nearly went into was still parked outside 'Free Mori'. He must be looking at me and thinking 'what a crazy woman' I was, walking up and down. Anyway, I remembered where 'Brother's' was. As I crossed the road, I saw hubby's car, made sure it was the correct car, looked at the number plate and then went in. Of course, told hubby what happened. Moral of the story. Always look at car number plate before going in, to make sure that it is the correct car. wahahaha.

Sri Melaka, Taman Tun

Hubby brought me out for lunch today. When I got into the car, he asked what I felt like eating. Told him, 'anything'. Had Chessy Tuna for breakfast this morning and was feeling a bit full. Anyway, he then asked if there was any nice 'Nyonya Food' around. Around my office I don't remember any nice 'Nyonya Food', but told him we could try out 'Sri Melaka', in Taman Tun. The place has been around for quite a while. I think I have only been there once and that was ages ago with my ex colleague. We ended up there. Quite empty, only 1 other table occupied. Picked up the menu, saw that they had 'Set Lunch'. It comes with drinks and dessert of the day for RM9.00. The dessert was cut fruits - only 3 tiny pieces. Oh well, what did you expect for RM9.00.

Hubby ordered Mutton Rice Set

Mine was Assam Laksa set
I also ordered my favourite dessert - Sago Gula Melaka. But this was disappointing. It was very watery, not like the usual I always have where the sago is set and you can chew on it. Those white stuff is shaved iced.

Total for lunch was RM26.10 inclusive of tax.

Port Klang

Ended up at  Port Klang one weekend for lunch. Well, we have been there many times and wanted to try a new place. This is the place. We arived there at 11.30, thus it was empty. We were the only ones there.

Ordered fried rice.

Deed Fried Sotong - Was delicious. The batter was like those used for fried chicken.

Vege
And their speciality - Steam Fish - 'Teochew Style'. Very very yummy especially the soup. Polished everything.

The price, RM60. Don't you thinks its reasonable. No breakdown, as hubby paid for it while I was in the ladies.

De'Chiengmai, Thai Seafood Restaurant

Went for Dinner at a place I haven't been in ages. They used to operate in a little shophouse by the main road in Sungai Buloh where parking was horrible. They have since moved to a bigger place years ago, but I have not had the chance to visit their new place, although I have passed there before.  It is called 'DeChiengmai Thai Seafood Restaurant' at Sungai Buloh. I'm sure some of you would have gone there before.

When we arrived there, it was quite empty. There were only about 3 -  4 cars parked there and we wondered if there were open. Saw a guy sitting on the swing and went over to ask him if the place was opened. Just as he saw me approaching him, he got up to go inside, (hmm does he think I was going to chat him up. heheh) Anyway, I managed to ask him if the place was opened and he said it was.

Went in, the place was big, compared to the last time. They even have function rooms outside.
There were about 3 tables occupied inside. Took our seat. Got the menu and proceeded to order.

Must have 'Tom Yum - Mixed'. It was yummylicious. Ordered the medium sized RM35. Soup in the pot was not even full. So disappointed.

Chicken wrapped in pandan leaves - RM3 per piece. It was minced chicken and a bit spicy.
A plate of Tempura Shrimp - Small - RM15. This was pricey as it only had a few
pieces of shrimp and fried onion placed on top of crackers which made it look full.

Mixed vegetable - Medium  - RM15

Eventhough we ordered medium it was very small, so we ordered another plate of vege, large this time.
Fried Kailan - RM20

Had a very satisfying dinner. After that, dessert time. The dessert was place near the door and you could select whatever you wanted and how much. RM5 per bowl.

As for drinks, we ordered a bottle of mineral bottle at RM4 per bottle - large. I remember the last time, it was those Thai Drinking water, with Thai language on its bottle. But now, its just the local ones.

Total damage was RM144.00. Pricey, but hey I don't go there all the time.
